This Tuesday’s Tails, Lessons From A Paralyzed Dog decided to wake Lil’ Girl from her nap in the hope she might find a family to adopt her. Every Tuesday we join with other bloggers to spread the word about homeless pets that are waiting in shelters and rescue groups for a family who will ‘opt to adopt’ them.
This adorable tiny puppy looks a lot like a little lamb, but is really a Chihuahua mix who is between 8 and 10 weeks old. A Good Samaritan found her wandering in a neighborhood and brought her to a veterinary hospital to see if she had a microchip. When they didn’t find a chip, the woman who rescued her started a campaign to either find the puppy’s owner or a family to adopt her.
It’s been nearly two weeks since Lil’ Girl was rescued and no one has come forward to claim her. She is currently being fostered by her rescuer during a quarantine period and will soon go into the Heaven Can Wait Animal Society system in Las Vegas, NV where she will live with a female inmate at the women’s correctional facility until she can be adopted.
Her foster mom would love to find Lil’ Girl a permanent home before she goes to live at the prison. She said the little puppy has a very sweet disposition and adores sitting on her lap to cuddle.
Lil’ Girl was given her first round of puppy vaccinations and appears to be in good health, although she was a bit skinny when she was found.
If you would like to meet Lil’ Girl, please let us know by leaving a comment at the bottom of this story.
