Cody is 13 years-old and like a lot of dogs his age; he is showing significant signs of osteoarthritis. His body is stiff when he first gets up to move around, he can’t jump into the car by himself and the muscles around his arms and legs look like they are wasting away. He also makes a deep moaning sound when he lies down. Arthritis is one of the most common degenerative conditions in older dogs and unfortunately Cody has a bad case.
Because he also has Inflammatory Bowel Disease which takes a terrible toll on his stomach and how he digests food, Cody isn’t able to take the typically prescribed medicines for arthritis. So we’ve tried to control the disease with supplements and light exercise.
