Have you been following the heated lawsuit that Purina filed against Blue Buffalo accusing the company of falsely advertising the ingredients in their pet food? I think the case is especially important if you have a dog or cat with special needs because good nutrition is so important to maintaining their health.
When Pet Botanics asked me to write a review, I thought it must be for their grain-free dog food that’s full of botanical antioxidants. Then I found out the review was for their K-9 acapella singing group called the “BotaniFits,” which is a band of rescue dogs who are introducing their first video. That’s when I decided to read more about this fun-loving and health conscious company.
After a year of vague digestive symptoms that went from mild to severe and many rounds of tests Cody, my 11 year-old Shepherd/Collie mix was diagnosed with IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease). IBD happens when the lining of a dog’s small or large intestine becomes overloaded with inflammatory cells. Dogs with the disease have loose watery stools, chronic weight-loss and malabsorption of nutrients.
Cody is on a wide array of very strong medications and he was prescribed a restricted diet that I am cooking for him. One of the ingredients I am supposed to add to his diet is essential fatty acids so I was very excited when Marvelous Products asked Cody to review Benecoat.
