Happy Halloween! Dogs love to dress up in costumes for Halloween and we love seeing how cute they look. For those of us with a disabled dog, choosing a costume can be tricky. To help, I’ve done some research and put together this Halloween Costume Gift Guide for Dogs in Wheelchairs. I hope you find it helpful.
My first suggestion is that you stay away from costumes that fit on top of your dog’s back. These can cause havoc and get tangled if your pup’s cart uses straps. In addition, a costume that presses on your dog’s back can add excess weight they don’t need on a weak spine.
I also recommend that you stick to costumes that leave your dog’s front limbs open and free. The restriction of a costume that covers the front legs can make it hard for a disabled pup to walk in their wheelchair. [Read more…]
This is Olivia’s first summer with our family and her first summer in Las Vegas where we live. She is not a fan of our soaring summer temperatures. And unfortunately for her, we’ve been hitting record highs. Sometimes she looks at me with an expression that screams, “You are crazy for living in this place.”

It is funny how two dogs can be so different in their love for food. Olivia would literally eat treats all day long if I let her. Bailey on the other hand, can walk past a snack if she isn’t in the mood to munch. It makes it difficult to find one treat both dogs can agree upon. Earthbites turned out to be a winner for both of my pups. [Read more…]
Finally, after a long and unseasonably cold winter, it is beautiful! No one has been enjoying it more than Olivia. She can spend the entire day using her little Beagle nose to sniff our yard from one end the another. She is especially happy around the pond where she can keep her eye on the koi. The poor fish have been huddled at the bottom of the pond all winter long.
While Olivia has been soaking up her daily dose of Vitamin D from the sunshine, I thought she and Bailey could benefit from another nutritional supplement. SeaMeal™ is helping us stay healthy! We have been adding the Solid Gold supplement to the dog’s diet for their ChewyInfluencer review. [Read more…]
