There is wonderful news to share about Lizee, the four month-old paralyzed puppy found on the side of the road in Albuquerque, NM. A foster home has been found and the puppy will be in the safe hands of Heath’s Haven Rescue. Thank you to everyone who shared Lizee’s story and helped us save her from being euthanized.
An experienced foster read about Lizee and offered her services to Heath’s Haven to take care of the puppy. Now Lizee’s animal advocate, Tryslyn, is working hard to organize transportation to the rescue group in Idaho.
Heath’s Haven specializes in helping dogs with neurological and mobility issues. Their sanctuary provides medical treatment, physical therapy, mobility devices and tons of love for disabled dogs.
Lizee will need an MRI to diagnose the reason for her paralysis. There are no obvious fractures noted by her first exam, but she may have a congenital condition, an infection or a hidden trauma going on in her spine.
To help get this lifesaving procedure and follow- up medical care, Heath’s Haven started an online campaign for Lizee. Heath’s Haven is a small nonprofit group run by Shawn and Jolene Heath so every little donation is appreciated very much.

Lessons From A Paralyzed dog is very proud to have worked with animal advocate Tryslyn and Heath’s Haven to save little Lizee.
