Have you met Olivia? About 1 ½ years ago she became the latest fur kid to join our family of two dogs, two cats and an array of humans. Olivia is a very sweet Beagle, but unless there is a plate of food nearby, her expression is always as serious as it is in the picture above. Offer her a cookie and her face lights up.
That’s why it is extremely important that my little chowhound only eats food and treats that are made from wholesome ingredients. Because given the opportunity Olivia would not choose wisely. I’m mentioning this because Olivia, you and I are starting on a nutritional journey with a brand I know you have seen in your favorite pet food store. It’s Chicken Soup for the Soul® Pet Food. Olivia will be eating the food, readers will be winning the product and I will be sharing your stories. We will be doing this from now until the end of the year. I hope you’ll join Olivia’s nutritional journey with Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food.

What impressed me about the Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food company
I’ve always been curious about the bags of food in my pet food store that carry the name Chicken Soup for the Soul. Are they really the same company as one of my favorite series of books?
Well, the answer is yes. They are a family-owned and operated company that understands the unique bond people have with their pets. They first shared that special relationship through the stories in their books and later expanded their efforts by providing our pets with nutritionally balanced food for each stage of a dog’s life. Chicken Soup for the Soul uses only whole ingredients in their dog food that is made with love in the USA.
While I truly appreciate their commitment to keeping Olivia healthy, the company endeared itself to me when I read how the CEO has a disabled “grand-dog” named Riley.
Riley is a blind Pug who was found living on the streets in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She had just delivered a litter of puppies and was missing so many teeth that her tongue perpetually hung out of her mouth. Riley was rescued by her human Ella and became part of the Chicken Soup for the soul family.
Olivia’s first impression
Before Olivia could sample her new food, she had to pick a flavor. There were a lot of great recipes to choose from, but Olivia decided on the Grain Free Chicken, Turkey, Pea & Sweet Potato recipe. She was very excited when the big box arrived at our door with her name on it.
We’ve been slowly switching her to the Chicken Soup for the Soul food over the past few weeks. That said, if Olivia had her way, I know she would push her old food aside and gobble up the new one.
And I can see why Olivia is thoroughly enjoying the food. There is a big difference in appearance and color of the Chicken Soup for the Soul food. Each piece of kibble is a meaty rich dark brown color. Olivia has been licking her bowl clean every morning and evening.
