A paralyzed kitten that was rescued from a drainpipe is getting the chance to live a normal life. The five month-old who was given the name Bruce Lee because of his kicks and fighting will to survive, is learning to walk again.
Bruce Lee was rescued from a drainpipe by a woman who heard the little kitten crying for help. After she rescued him, she noticed he could not move his rear legs.
The Santa Fe Animal Shelter took custody of the kitten and with their encouragement other animal professionals have gotten involved to rehabilitate Bruce Lee.
A veterinarian customized a handmade kitten-sized wheelchair to strengthen Bruce Lee’s legs and animal rehab experts volunteered with an underwater treadmill and climbing exercises to teach him to use his rear legs again.
The Santa Fe Animal Shelter reports that Bruce Lee is making good progress. They hope the little survivor will soon be adopted into a new home where he is expected to live a normal life.
