Life has not been kind to a very sweet little paralyzed puppy named Missy. She and her littermates we born in a junkyard in South Phoenix and just when they were rescued and settling into their foster home, a larger puppy played too rough with Missy and injured her spine.
Missy cannot use her hind legs and she desperately needs to be seen by a specialist. Arf-Anage Dog Rescue is raising funds so little Missy can get a complete workup and diagnosis from a canine neurologist.
Missy’s injury left her with no feeling in her rear legs, tail or bottom. The paralyzed puppy scoots or hops to get around. Recently another rescue group in the area loaned the puppy a dog wheelchair.
Missy’s foster mom says the puppy doesn’t realize she is hurt and wants to play like her other siblings. Her new wheelchair helps her keep up with her brothers and sisters.
Arf-Anage took Missy to a veterinarian for an exam and x-rays, but the group was encouraged to see a specialist. They are trying to raise $5,000 so Missy can get a proper diagnosis from a neurologist.
