Are you curious about starting your dog on a raw food diet? When I adopted Cody 10 years ago nobody was talking about the subject, but since adding Bailey to our family last Christmas I’ve been noticing a lot of information about the benefits of going raw. I’ve been wondering if raw pet food would be a good fit for my pups. I was pretty sure adding raw ingredients wouldn’t be too hard for us because I already cook for my dogs in order to control Cody’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Cooking let’s me keep the ingredients in Cody’s food to the ones I know agree with his sensitive stomach, but I never took the leap to try a raw pet food diet until now when we had the opportunity to try Stella & Chewy’s® Meal Mixers.
What are Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers?
Stella & Chewy discovered there were plenty of pet parents like me who want to dip a toe into the raw pet food market so they created Meal Mixers which let me mix small scoops of raw food into my home cooked food as an introduction for my dogs. The food is designed to be used as a compliment to your dog’s current diet or as a whole complete meal.
I liked the idea that Meal Mixers are freeze-dried pieces of premium food. They come in four protein options: Savory Salmon & Cod, Tantalizing Turkey, Chewy’s Chicken and Stella’s Super Beef, which is the one we tried.
*95% nutrient-rich, meat, organs and bone
*Organic fruits and vegetables, plus probiotics and antioxidants
*There are no grains, glutens, fillers, artificial preservatives or colorings
I was also impressed with the extra steps Stella & Chewy’s takes to keep the Meal Mixers safe. A third party independent lab analysis is conducted on each batch of food before it leaves their Wisconsin-based manufacturing facility. The results of every batch are posted on the Stella & Chewy’s website for consumers to see.
The Results of Our Taste Test
Stella & Chewy’s Meal Mixers are designed to be mixed with a small amount of water so it adds flavor and nutrition to your dog’s entire food bowl. After I mixed the food I let Cody and Bailey get a whiff of what they were about to sample. They were pretty excited with the scent of the food.
Stella & Chewy’s conducted an independent taste test study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison when Meal Mixers was first developed and 9 out of 10 dogs preferred their kibble when it was mixed with the product. My dogs would have voted right along with that group. If you’re ready for your dogs to sample their own bag of Meal Mixers check out this convenient store locator.
In addition Stella & Chewy’s is offering a special Giveaway. There will be 25 Winners who will each receive a Stella & Chewy’s product Assortment Valued at $75. The Giveaway will run from September 10th through October 2nd.
If your dog is on a raw pet food diet, I’d love to hear more about experience.
