Lessons From A Paralyzed Dog  would like to share the tale of Cupid, a 3-month-old disabled puppy who was abandoned in the snow this winter.  The little hound mix was born with a birth defect in his two front paws.  He was turned over to Ruff Start Rescue in Minneapolis, MN.

Happy Wordless Wednesday from Lessons From A Paralyzed Dog!  Did you know disabled animals come in all species?  While it is becoming common to see a handicapped dog scooting around in a wheelchair, there are lots of other animals being given a second chance with prosthetic limbs and mobility devices.

Wordless Wednesday: These Boots Are Made For Walkin’

Once my dog Sophie became paralyzed I discovered a whole new world of pet products that would keep her going strong.  One important product was doggie boots.  I hope your dog will never have to use doggie boots, but I thought you might like to learn about our favorites.  When Sophie first showed signs of muscle weakness in her hind legs, boots were a lifesaver in preventing her from falling on slick surfaces like our tile floors.  Later on they protected her dragging paws from getting injured on the pavement when I walked her outdoors for bathroom breaks.
