For the past 30 days Cody has been on the injectable medication, Adequan® Canine, to calm his severe arthritis pain and stiffness. Like a lot of large breed 13 year-old dogs, Cody has Osteoarthritis in his elbows, hips and rear legs. He has a terrible time getting up off the floor and he moans when he lies down. His body is stiff and unsteady when he walks and he’s in constant pain. I’ve had other big dogs who suffered from arthritis as they grew older, but Cody’s joints are much worse than any of the others.
I actually thought we were going to lose him a few weeks ago when he lost his balance on a walk and collapsed into some bushes on our neighbor’s front yard. That’s how weak his legs have become over the past six months. Luckily I was able to boost him up from the ground and we slowly walked home.
