This post is another installment in my mission to find resources that financially assist dogs in need of wheelchairs. I started the project after I realized that finding financial aid for handicapped pets in need of a cart was the number one question asked on Lessons From A Paralyzed Dog.
Quality dog wheelchairs can be expensive and range in price from $350 for a small rear support cart to more than $600 for a full support quad cart. The expensive price tag is due to the fortunate fact that the major dog wheelchair companies are obsessed with producing carts which are custom made to accommodate each dog’s size, weight and specific form of paralysis.
While this attention to quality is good news for paraplegic pets, it also presents a financial burden to many families. And that is why I started my journey to locate and share resources that can help.
With this installment I am happy to share two resources that assist pet owners in getting an affordable cart.
