Thanks to technology, apps, and cell phones you can order just about anything online and have it delivered to your home. The folks at Petnostics took that idea and combined it with cutting edge science. Imagine having the ability to check your pet’s health with at-home diagnostic tests. It would make life easier if you have to monitor a pet for an ongoing illness.
The first product Petnostics developed was a urinalysis kit for diagnosing urinary tract infections. It was the perfect test kit for paralyzed dogs and cats who are prone to recurring UTIs. A woman rescued her and took her to a shelter. A year later she was still waiting for her forever home so the rescue group thought she would have better luck if she travelled to a state (like mine) that did not have as many Beagles. Their theory worked because she became part of our family the same day she arrived.
Not knowing Olivia’s history is a concern to me. I wonder if she had any previous health problems or what her nutrition was like as a puppy. Last month I was offered the opportunity to give Olivia a healthy new start with Nutri-Vet® Multi-Vite Chewables for dogs and I jumped at the chance.
Are you familiar with integrative veterinary medicine? It’s a type of veterinary practice you should know if your dog or cat has a spinal condition. Taking your pet to an integrative veterinarian can benefit your paralyzed dog and you in lots of ways. It can save you time and ensure that your fur kid receives coordinated medical care.
Life can get crazy for the caretaker of a paraplegic pet. When Sophie started to lose her ability to walk, we made visits to our regular veterinarian for her medical workup, we went to a specialist for laser therapy, and we had weekly appointments with the holistic veterinarian for her acupuncture treatments.
