The news in this story is so exciting that my fingers were flying on the computer to get it to you as fast as possible. The 90th Western Veterinary Conference was “the place to be seen” on the Las Vegas strip in early March. More than 15,000 veterinary professionals attended the 5-day event to learn the latest in veterinary medicine. Attendees were also treated to a concert by Jewel, an evening of comedy with Kevin Nealon, and a performance by country singer, Darius Rucker. Finally, after a long and unseasonably cold winter, it is beautiful! No one has been enjoying it more than Olivia. She can spend the entire day using her little Beagle nose to sniff our yard from one end the another. She is especially happy around the pond where she can keep her eye on the koi. The poor fish have been huddled at the bottom of the pond all winter long.

My dog Cody has a severe case of arthritis in his hips. The past couple of years it has changed the way he walks and tries to lie down. He moves his twelve year-old body slower and more deliberate when he walks. And, quite honestly, he uses a technique to lie down that I’ve never seen before.
