As the owner of a paralyzed dog or cat, you can make a difference to pets with mobility problems by taking this survey. Baily’s Wellness Foundation is collecting data so they can create targeted programs for families with disabled pets.
When I started Lessons From A Paralyzed Dog (LFPD) in 2013, there was only a small handful of services to help pet families. A couple of groups were donating dog wheelchairs and a few universities were conducting research projects.
There were two groups teaching us about life with a dog or cat who couldn’t walk: Dodgerslist, for dogs with IVDD and Tripawds for pets with an amputation. But if your fur kid had another disability or injury, it was hard to get information about the daily care they needed. [Read more…]
