Lessons From A Paralyzed Dog is a tribute to dogs, cats and other pets with disabilities. Today we’re honoring paralyzed dogs who have achieved greatness.
Lucy is the only paralyzed dog who has successfully climbed Mt. Washington in a wheelchair. The summit of the mountain is the tallest peak in the Northeastern United State. Lucy was hit by a car in Puerto Rico when she was just a few months old. Today she lives with her family in New Hampshire. Keep up with Lucy’s achievements on her FB page.
Roosevelt the Border Collie is an athlete in his “front wheel drive” wheelchair. Born with malformed front legs, this dog’s human mom doesn’t see him as disabled. She says Roosevelt is “different-abled.” Check out what Roosevelt is up to on his FB page.
Meet Sophie. She is the reason I write Lessons From A Paralyzed Dog. Sophie slowly became paralyzed from an undiagnosed condition. During the 5 years she lost the ability to walk, she never felt sorry for herself and taught me how to live a “new normal” way of life. Keep current about our story on Sophie’s FB page. If you have a paralyzed pet who has beat the odds, please share your story with us.
