Happy April Fool’s Wordless Wednesday! After reading the title of this story you probably think it’s an April Fool’s Day prank, but I promise the story is 100% true.
Twin baby goats, Aldo and Wanda, were born on January 25 to the Petersen family in Kilauea, Hawaii. Everything about the goats looked normal, but 8 hours after their birth the babies started to have problems. Here’s a video that explains what happened.
Soon there will be a happy ending for Aldo and Wanda because two custom-sized goat wheelchairs are on their way from HandicappedPets.com. Carts aren’t just for dogs anymore; they come in all sizes and shapes for different animal species. The specialized wheelchairs will give the twins the freedom they deserve to run around like typical goats.
The Petersen family has a GoFundMe page so they can build a fenced area for the little goats that will keep them safe from predators and provide for their future veterinary care. While the illness behind Aldo and Wanda’s paralysis is a mystery, the Petersen family is ready to do what it takes to give them a good life.
